One Step Closer

One Step CloserToday is just an ordinary Sunday for most. But for me, it marks the day I am one step closer to reaching my dream. Today is the day I sent Collide, a novel I started many years ago to the editor.

I started Collide many years ago. My children were infants (and at the time I had three instead of four). I had this idea that played through my mind over and over and wouldn’t go away, so I did what I had to do… I wrote it down. I spent many hours, weeks and months eagerly pouring myself into this novel. It ended up being over five hundred pages and 150K words long… and it still wasn’t finished.

Well, life happened and I eventually put this project aside. My time was spent being a taxi driver, caretaker and provider to my now four beautiful children, and reading books instead of writing them. Then I had inspiration strike once again. I started writing Resilience. I had so much to say in that book, I broke it into to two full length novels.

This past summer, I came back to Collide. I completely reworked it, revised it like crazy and finished it this past week. It’s amazing to see how much you grow as a person over the years. I kept the same story, but revamped it in a way I am really happy with. I’m so glad to see it is complete and sitting at  98K words.

The most exciting this is that I was able to have the cover done for it as well this week. I’d bought this cover a year ago and can’t wait to see the final product. I hope to have this book in your hands within the year. I am developing my release schedule and will let you know as soon as things are official. In the mean time, here is the blurb.

Collide: A Sweet Romance

Alex never saw Gavin coming, especially the day she plowed into him.

Being new on campus, she’s perfectly content with the life she’s created away from home.

She may have fallen head-over-heels, but after their mortifying encounter, all she wants to do is hide.

However, Gavin’s completely unavoidable and just maybe, she likes it a little more than she should.

Until Next Time,

Amanda
